How to install Scribus 1.5.2 on Ubuntu 16.04

Scribus is a desktop publishing (DTP) application, released under the GNU General Public License as free software. It is based on the free Qt toolkit, with native versions available for Unix, Linux, BSD, Mac OS X, Haiku, Microsoft Windows, OS/2 and eComStation operating systems.

Important Changes

  •      The text layout engine has been rewritten from scratch in preparation for support of complex scripts such as Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese and Hindi coming in Scribus 1.5.3 and later. We are more than grateful for the magnificent work that the Oman House of Open Source Technology team, led by Khaled Hosny, completed.

  •     Within the context of the text layout system rewrite, some new text features introduced with the 1.5.0 release have been stabilized and improved.

  •     Improvements to the canvas rendering on Hi-DPI screens.

  •     The Autosave and File Recovery system has seen large improvements and is now highly configurable.
