How to Install Skype 1.13 Alpha on Ubuntu 16.10, 16.04

   Skype  is an application that provides video chat and voice call services. Users may exchange such digital documents as images, text, video and any others, and may transmit both text and video messages. Skype allows the creation of video conference calls. Skype is available for Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, or Linux, as well as Android, Blackberry, and both Apple and Windows smartphones and tablets.


Skype 1.13 Alpha Changelog:
  •     Enabled SMS sending
  •     Update to Electron 1.4.7
  •     Support for remote escalation of the 1-1 call to group call
  •     Improved crash reporting
  •     Added support for authentication token revocation
  •     Bugfixes and performance improvements

Installation instructions:

    Install Skype 1.10 Alpha on Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak), Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus), Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf), Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet), Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr)
     
   Open terminal and insert command line...


$ sudo apt-get install gdebi

$ wget https://go.skype.com/skypeforlinux-64-alpha.deb

$ sudo gdebi
skypeforlinux-64-alpha.deb
