How to Install VLC 2.2.5.1 on Ubuntu Desktop

    VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

Installation instructions: 
 
    Open terminal and insert command line...

$ sudo apt-get build-dep vlc

$ wget -c download.videolan.org/pub/vlc/2.2.5.1/vlc-2.2.5.1.tar.xz

$ tar -xJvf vlc-2.2.5.1.tar.xz

$ cd vlc-2.2.5.1

$ ./configure

$ make

$ sudo make install
